ABOUT PROPOSITION-419 & PROPOSITION-420
Vote YES on Both Propositions to Support Mesa Schools
PROPOSITION 419 FOCUSES ON ESSENTIAL STUDENT NEEDS:
Proposition 419 is a $449 million bond centered on critical infrastructure with approximately 70% dedicated to cost effective long-term school construction and essential repairs across the district. About 10 percent of the funding would be allocated for safety, security, and technology infrastructure, including secure front lobbies, updated security cameras and technology systems. An estimated 15 percent would support site-based projects identified by schools, and five percent would be dedicated to Career and Technical Education (CTE) program improvements. Proposition 419 includes:
HVAC, roofing, plumbing, and electrical replacements
Safety and security upgrades
Technology infrastructure and classroom modernization
Renovation and modernization of aging schools
Career & Technical Education (CTE) facilities and equipment
Furniture, instructional technology, and campus improvements
Potential school rebuilds or consolidation projects where renovation costs are no longer cost effective

PROPOSITION 420 HELPS MPS SUPPORT FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY
Proposition 420 allows Mesa Public Schools to sell, lease or exchange five administrative properties throughout the district. Leveraging these properties helps protect taxpayers by improving operational efficiency, reducing administrative space, and generating value from district owned assets to reinvest into district.
Approval of this measure would give the Governing Board the authority to consider future sale, lease or exchange of the identified properties. It does not require the district to sell, lease or exchange any property.
